GB/T 20118 Wire Rope

GB/T 20118 is China’s national standard for general-purpose steel wire ropes, specifying constructions (e.g., 6×19, 6×37, 8×19), core types (fiber core FC or independent wire rope core IWRC), tensile grades (1570–2160 MPa), and minimum breaking force calculations. Widely adopted across domestic manufacturing, construction, mining, and port machinery, it aligns broadly with ISO 2408 but includes China-specific requirements on labeling, packaging, and acceptance testing—serving as the baseline for quality control and procurement in the Chinese market.
