The ASTM A 1023 classification 35x7 rotation-resistant--category 1 is a high-quality steel wire rope. It has a specific construction with 35 strands in total, including 16 outer strands, arranged in 3 layers of strands. Each strand consists of 5 to 9 wires, with 4 to 8 outer wires in a single layer of wire. Excluding the steel core, there are 238 wires in the rope.

This rope comes in various nominal diameters. For example, diameters range from as small as 9 mm to as large as 40 mm. Along with different diameters, it offers a range of reference weights, from 0.369 kg/m for the 9-mm diameter rope to 7.28 kg/m for the 40-mm one.

The minimum breaking force varies depending on the diameter and the strength grade. For instance, at a 1770 strength level, the 9-mm rope has a minimum breaking force of 55.4 KN. It's important to note that for final galvanized ropes, the minimum breaking force is 10% lower than the listed values. This rope is suitable for applications where rotation resistance is crucial.
