ASTM A1023 34x7 Rotation Resistant Category 2 Steel Wire Rope

The ASTM A 1023 classification 34x7 rotation-resistant--category 2 is a high-quality steel wire rope. It has a specific construction that contributes to its performance. The rope consists of 34 to 36 strands, with 12 to 18 outer strands. Each strand is made up of 5 to 9 wires, with 4 to 8 outer wires. There are 3 layers of strands and 1 layer of wire in each strand. The number of wires in the rope (excluding the steel core) ranges from 170 to 324.

In terms of size and strength, it comes in various nominal diameters. For example, from 6 mm with a reference weight of 0.14 kg/m and a minimum breaking force of 20.3 KN (at 1770 grade) to larger diameters like 40 mm with a weight of 6.24 kg/m and a minimum breaking force of 901 KN (at 1770 grade). Note that for final - galvanized ropes, the minimum breaking force is 10% lower than the listed values. This steel wire rope is suitable for applications where rotation resistance is crucial.
