EN - 12385 - 4 Wire Rope
EN 12385-4 Class 6×19S-IWRC Steel Wire Rope – High-Durability Independent Wire Rope Core
The 6×19S-IWRC wire rope complies with EN 12385-4 and utilizes a Seale strand construction (1+9+9), where each of the six strands contains 19 wires. This design places nine larger outer wires over nine smaller inner wires, combining high wear resistance with good flexibility. The independent wire rope core (IWRC) significantly increases the rope’s resistance to crushing and reduces elongation under load, making it suitable for dynamic applications with high cycle counts.
Available from 6 mm to 60 mm in diameter, it supports tensile strengths up to 2160 MPa, with minimum breaking forces reaching 2770 kN. This construction is widely employed in tower cranes, winches, and industrial machinery where long service life under repeated bending and tension is critical.
