8×7 Steel Wire Rope ISO 2408 Class – Compact 8-Strand Rope with High Tensile Strength for Lifting & Rigging

The 8×7 steel wire rope features a compact yet robust 8-strand construction, each strand containing 7 wires (1+6), resulting in 48 outer wires total. This design offers higher flexibility than traditional 6×7 ropes while maintaining excellent tensile strength and abrasion resistance.

Manufactured to ISO 2408:2017 standards, it is available with Fiber Core (FC) or Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC), and supports rope grades of 1570, 1770, and 1960 MPa. Diameter ranges from 2mm to 48mm, with minimum breaking forces from 1.83 kN (2mm FC) up to 1620 kN (48mm IWRC).

The 8-strand configuration provides better load distribution and improved resistance to crushing and distortion, making it suitable for applications such as elevator ropes, mine hoists, aerial tramways, and general rigging where space is limited but reliability is critical.
