ASTM A 1023 Wire Rope
ASTM A1023 6X36 Fiber Core Flexible Lifting Wire Rope
The ASTM A 1023 classification 6x36 fiber core is a high-quality steel wire rope with distinct construction features. It consists of 6 strands, and each strand contains 27 to 49 wires. The rope has 6 outer strands and typically 1 layer of strands. In each strand, there are 3 to 4 layers of wire, with 12 to 18 outer wires. The total number of wires in the rope (excluding the steel core) ranges from 156 to 276.
Available in various nominal diameters, from as small as 6 mm to as large as 48 mm. It comes with different weight and breaking force specifications. For example, at a diameter of 6 mm, the approximate nominal length mass is 0.14 kg/m, and the minimum breaking force varies depending on the grade (21 KN for IPS 1770, 23.3 KN for EIP 1960, and 25.7 KN for EEIP 2160). Note that the minimum breaking force for final - galvanized rope is 10% lower than the listed values. This wire rope is suitable for a wide range of applications where reliable strength and durability are required.
