ASTM A 1023 Wire Rope
ASTM A1023 7X19 Steel Core High Strength Wire Rope
The ASTM A 1023 classification 7x19 steel core is a high-quality steel wire rope. This rope is constructed with 7 strands, each strand containing 15 to 26 wires. The outer strands number 7, with 7 to 12 outer wires per strand, and there is 1 layer of strands. Excluding the steel core, there are 105 to 182 wires in the rope.
It comes in various nominal diameters, ranging from as small as 6 mm to as large as 48 mm. Along with different diameters, it has corresponding approximate nominal length masses, which vary from 0.157 kg/m for the 6-mm diameter rope to 10.068 kg/m for the 48-mm diameter one.
The minimum breaking force of the rope also varies depending on the diameter and the grade (IPS, EIP, EEIP). For example, for a 6-mm diameter rope in the EIP grade, the minimum breaking force is 25.1 KN. It's important to note that the minimum breaking force for final-galvanized rope is 10% lower than the listed values. This steel wire rope is suitable for a wide range of applications where high strength and durability are required.
