The ASTM A 1023 CLASSIFICATION 6X19 Steel Core is a high-quality steel wire rope. This rope consists of 6 strands, with each strand containing 15 to 26 wires. There are 6 outer strands and the number of outer wires per strand ranges from 7 to 12. The rope has 1 layer of strands and 2 to 3 layers of wire within each strand. Excluding the steel core, there are 90 to 156 wires in the rope.

It comes in various nominal diameters, from 6 mm up to larger sizes. The approximate nominal length mass varies depending on the diameter, starting from 0.153 kg/m for a 6 - mm diameter rope. The minimum breaking force also differs based on the diameter and the grade (IPS, EIP, EEIP). For example, a 12 - mm diameter rope in the 1770 IPS grade has a minimum breaking force of 90.7 KN. Note that for final - galvanized ropes, the minimum breaking force is 10% lower than the listed values. This steel wire rope is suitable for a wide range of applications where strength and durability are required.
