Chain Slings
Grade 80 Alloy Steel Double Forged Open Hooks Leg Chain Sling (DOF)
This Grade 80 Alloy Steel Double Forged Open Hooks Leg Chain Sling (DOF) consists of two equal-length alloy steel chain legs joined at a common master link at the top, each terminating in a forged open foundry hook — providing a versatile, high-capacity lifting assembly for loads with two attachment points or for multi-point balanced lifting of long structural members and fabricated components.
The two-leg configuration distributes load across both chain strands, with the effective Working Load Limit dependent on the included angle between the legs. At 0° (vertical), the combined WLL equals twice the single-leg rating; at 45° sling angle, the WLL is reduced to the rated capacity of each individual leg. A sling angle indicator is provided on the ID tag to assist riggers in determining the correct WLL for the intended lift angle.
Available with chain diameters from 7 mm to 22 mm and leg lengths from 1 to 4 meters as standard, with custom lengths available on request. Working Load Limits range from 2.24 to 32.6 tonnes at 0° vertical. Each lower hook is a Grade 80 forged open hook, sized to match the chain diameter and rated at the same WLL as the chain strand.
All components comply with EN 818-4 and ASME B30.9 overhead lifting standards. Each leg and all hardware components are individually proof-tested and marked, with the complete assembly supplied with a color-coded ID tag and load test certificate for inspection and compliance documentation.
