Single Swivel Safety Hook Leg Chain Sling (SOS)

This Single Swivel Safety Hook Leg Chain Sling (SOS) features a heat-treated alloy steel chain paired with a forged swivel safety hook at the lower terminal, allowing the hook to rotate freely under load to relieve torsional stress and prevent chain twisting — a critical advantage in dynamic lifting and multi-cycle rigging operations.

The swivel mechanism at the hook shank enables 360° rotation, ensuring that load movement, crane travel, and load spinning during crane picks do not induce cumulative twist into the chain body. The safety latch on the hook provides positive load retention to prevent accidental disengagement during lifting, meeting EN 1677-1 swivel hook safety requirements.

Manufactured to EN 818-4 standards with Grade 80 alloy chain, this sling is available in chain diameters from 7 mm to 22 mm with Working Load Limits from 1.12 to 16.3 tonnes at 0° vertical. The upper end is fitted with a forged oval master link for standard crane hook engagement.

Each sling assembly is proof-tested, marked, and supplied with a permanent identification tag detailing WLL, chain grade, leg length, and production batch — supporting full traceability for site safety records, periodic inspection programs, and regulatory compliance under ASME B30.9 and LOLER requirements.
