EN - 12385 - 4 Wire Rope
1. 8×36WS-IWRC Steel Wire Rope – EN 12385-4
This steel wire rope complies with the European standard EN 12385-4 and features an 8-strand Warrington-Seale construction, such as 8×36WS (1-7-7+7-14) or 8×46WS (1-9-9+9-18). With up to 18 outer wires per strand and a total of 144 outer wires in the 8×46WS configuration, it offers exceptional flexibility and high resistance to bending fatigue. The independent wire rope core (IWRC) provides structural stability and minimizes elongation under load.
Available in diameters from 8 mm to 60 mm, it supports tensile strengths of 1770, 1960, and 2160 MPa, with minimum breaking forces reaching 2770 kN at 60 mm. This rope is commonly used in tower cranes, offshore lifting systems, and high-cycle hoisting applications where repeated bending over sheaves is a constant operational factor.
