Open Type Steel Ferrule (U Type)

When a rigging assembly calls for an open, U-type wire rope socket, the SAFETYLIFT Open Type Steel Ferrule (U Type) is built to do the job: terminates a wire rope end in an open, U-shaped basket that is filled with molten zinc or resin around the splayed wire strands, leaving the loop open for direct pin or shackle attachment. It is forged or cast from high-strength steel and proof tested to the rated capacity of the matching wire rope size. GMC supplies this fitting for crane hoist ropes, mooring lines and structural cable terminations where a strong, permanent, pin-connected end fitting is required, and stocks a full range of sizes so that fabricators can match the fitting to the wire rope, chain or sling already in use rather than redesigning an assembly around a single available size.
